Liam Gallagher Ditches Oasis 2.0 Moniker: “That Was a Shit Name Anyway”
2/9/2010 The disintegration of Brit pop icons Oasis has been a fun one to watch. When Noel Gallagher first left the band, his brother Liam said they'd continue making music without him. He rubbed salt into Noel's wounded ego even further when he announced that they'd be taking the name Oasis 2.0. However, Liam has now announced that the band will not be using the name Oasis at all. Lil Wayne's Sentencing Postponed Due to, Um, Dental Surgery
2/9/2010 Lil Wayne has an uncanny way of delaying bad things in his life. First, there was his absolutely terrible rock album, Rebirth, which he managed to postpone for nearly two years. Now, he's managed to delay his weapons-related prison sentence. Wayne was expected to start his year-long stint in the slammer tomorrow, but will now be waiting until March. (More after the jump.)... Matthew Herbert's Pig Album Hits Snag When Pig Dies
2/9/2010 Eclectic electronic guru Matthew Herbert has had one of the most interesting careers in his field, and the bizarre ride continues with his latest project. As we told you last September, Herbert is currently working on a new album called One Pig, the album is centered upon the life cycle of a pig. However, the project has run into a slight snag. Metric Respond to Backlash over Help Haiti T-Shirt
2/9/2010 Like so many other bands, Metric have offered up support to the earthquake-stricken people of Haiti. Last month, they appeared on a telethon to help raise funds for relief, and they also designed a new T-shirt, with all of the proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti relief effort. Unfortunately, some people called foul when the band unveiled the design for their charity shirt, which was emblazoned with the title of their 2009 single "Help, I'm Alive." (More after the jump.)... Megadeth Co-Founder Dave Ellefson Returns for Rust in Peace Tour; Dave Mustaine to Release Autobiography
2/9/2010 In a move sure to have many a longhair scratching their noggin’, Dave Ellefson, who played bass for Megadeth from 1983 to 2002, but since has been feuding with band leader Dave Mustaine, has rejoined the group. 2/9/2010 We all know it would be a deadly sin to let too much time go past without some news about Jack White and the White Stripes, so here’s the latest. It seems that an ad for the United States Air Force that debuted during the Super Bowl last Sunday used a song that sounded extremely similar to a White Stripes song, sans permission, something that’s not sitting well with White. Edwyn Collins Returns with First New Track Since Debilitating Stroke, Sets Aim on New Studio Album
2/8/2010 Edwyn Collins is a Glaswegian musical icon, and as the former singer of Orange Juice, has had a direct influence on more than a few Scottish bands, including such A-listers as Belle and Sebastian and Franz Ferdinand. In the past five years, however, Collins has had difficulty enjoying his legacy due a debilitating stroke suffered in 2005, which nearly killed the 50-year-old. Timber Timbre Plots North American and European Tour

Update: Men At Work’s Colin Hay Calls “Down Under” Ruling Nothing But “Opportunistic Greed”
2/8/2010 As we recently reported, Men at Work have lost a lawsuit in which they were accused of plagiarizing the children’s song “Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree” in their hit “Down Under.” One of the first to call bullshit was Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla, who tweeted that “The Men at Work plagiarism verdict is garbage, they got robbed.” Now, former Man at Work Colin Hay is calling it something similar.
