Sic Alps Announce Winter Tour with Magik Markers and Sonic Youth, Play Vancouver
11/25/2009 By Josiah Hughes

Jangly lo-fi rockers Sic Alps have announced that they'll be abandoning their San Francisco home this winter for a North American tour. But who could blame them when their tour-mates will include noisy Brooklynites Magik Markers and, after that, the legendary Sonic Youth.

The tour kicks of in San Jose, CA on December 9. From there, Sic Alps and Magik Markers will make their way up north, eventually landing a Vancouver show on December 18. Two days later, the tour will conclude in Arcata, CA.

After a brief break for the holidays, Sic Alps will embark on another tour, this time opening for Sonic Youth. Unfortunately, we Canadians won't get to enjoy this epic bill, as those dates are limited to Arizona and California.

The deliberately lo-fi, yet earnest, split between Transit and Man Overboard sounds like the product of a bunch of friends growing up on punk and hardcore throughout the '90s. The hardcore leanings of Boston fivesome Transit lay the groundwork for the pop punk tendencies of the Jersey kids in Man Ov... Full Review
