Motörhead's Lemmy Found Asleep in Glasgow Doorway, Mistaken for Homeless Man

It's probably not the first time he's been mistaken for a homeless person, and it certainly won't be the last, as Motörhead front-man Lemmy was found crashed out in a rainy doorway entrance early Friday morning (November 20) in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to Digital Spy, a listener on Rock Radio called in and told his story of a strange and chance encounter with the 65-year-old rocker in Clydeside area of the city where the band had played the previous night.

"I came to work and there was a gentleman by my basic entry door to work. I said to him, 'You're cold and wet, would you like a cup of coffee?'" the listener told the radio station.

"I brought him down a cup of coffee. He said, 'Thank you very much', and introduced himself as Lemmy. He drank his coffee and we had a little bit of conversation about this, that and the next thing and gave me a pack of cigars. I would imagine he was just sheltering from the rain. I think there was something going on at the hotel that he didn't want to get involved in."

The listener described Lemmy as a "really nice guy" and said the aging rocker even helped one of the delivery men out at the place of business.

Aah, Lemmy… even when he's found asleep in a doorway, probably still drunk from the previous night's debauchery, he's still a class act all the way.

Meanwhile, Motörhead are just wrapping up their UK tour with Girlschool and the Damned, before heading over to Germany, Finland and Russia for shows in December.
