Hidden Cameras Take Their Road Show out East, Dub New Album Origin:Orphan
6/26/2009 By Jason Schreurs

Toronto indie rock/folk gay cabaret act the Hidden Cameras have confirmed four upcoming shows in Eastern Canada. The somewhat recluse band will play Halifax on July 25 at a gay pride festival, as well as Wakefield, QC, on July 21, Fredericton, NB, on July 23, and Charlottetown, PEI, on July 24.

The dates will mark their first shows in their home country in quite some time, and their first string of dates since a European jaunt in April of 2008 (the band also played one show in Germany this past April).

The Hidden Cameras released their last proper album, Awoo, in 2006 and are currently readying the release of new full-length, to be titled Origin:Orphan on Arts & Crafts. There’s no firm release date on that one yet, but we do know it was mixed and mastered in May.

The Hidden Cameras’ band leader Joel Gibb made headlines last month when we reported that he had banded together with PETA to protest the Canadian seal hunt.

The Hidden Cameras Canadian tour dates:

6/25 Halifax, NS - Halifax Pride Festival

7/21 Wakefield, QC - The Black Sheep Inn

7/23 Fredericton, NB - The Capital Bar

7/24 Charlottetown, PEI - Baba's Lounge
