Simian Mobile Disco Plan North American Tour
12/15/2008 By Brock Thiessen

Despite Simian Mobile Disco’s new album still being nowhere in sight, the UK duo have lined up quite the hefty North American tour for 2009.

Kicking things off on March 12 in Vancouver, the dance-inducing SMD will swing by a number of U.S. cities and hit up Toronto and Montreal along the way, playing all shows in “full live performance” mode. Before crossing the Atlantic though, the group will somehow play three DJ sets in one in three different British cities on New Year’s Eve; we assume with the aid of massive quantities of Red Bull or maybe something a little stronger.

As far as the proper follow-up to 2007’s Attack Decay Sustain Release is concerned, the group’s James Shaw had previously told BBC’s Newsbeat that the yet-untitled LP would be out sometime in 2008 and feature guest appearances by Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys and Beth Ditto from the Gossip. However, with only a few weeks left in the year, SMD obviously aren’t going to hit that deadline and a new due date has yet to be announced.

For now, here are those tour dates:

12/12 London, England - East Village (DJ set)
12/13 Manchester, England - Warehouse Project (DJ set)
12/14 Glasgow, Scotland - Optimo
