Dig Into New Tracks by Moby, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, John K. Samson and More in Click Hear
11/2/2009 By Stephen Carlick

Great songs are everywhere, but those tucked away on B-sides, comps, seven-inches and as web exclusives often go criminally unheard. That’s why we at Exclaim! are always picking our favourite such tracks for the Click Hear section.

At the moment, we’ve unearthed a great song by '80s group Universal Robot Band, whose remix of “Barely Breaking Even (Club Version)" is a timely and joyful song to remind us of the recession of the early '80s and that better times are around the corner. John K. Samson (of Weakerthans fame) has released the tracks from the first in his series of seven-inches about his home province Manitoba, titled City Route 85. All three gentle and minimalistic tracks are available to listen to now.

Canadian pop folkie Jim Guthrie also has a new track, which is actually an old track. Unheard B-side “If Chairs Were Bears” is a playful pop track that features Guthrie’s signature quirky instrumentation and knack for arrangement. The Exclaim! exclusive track, Moby’s “One Time We Lived (Kap Bambino remix)," is still available for download from us. It’s one of two new songs to come from the deluxe re-release of Moby’s latest album, Wait For Me. Finally, we also have Montreal DJ A-Trak’s remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll,” which takes the '80s-inspired sound of the original and pushes it up a decade into the rave-y '90s.

Keep on top of all the new unheard gems in Exclaim!'s Click Hear section, or stay tuned every Monday for the update.
