Modest Mouse Announce Canada-Heavy Tour
6/16/2009 By Brock Thiessen

While Modest Mouse haven’t released a proper full-length since 2007’s We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, that doesn’t mean dudes haven’t been keeping busy. In the last little bit, they’ve lined up a series of new limited edition seven-inches, pulled together their very own photo book and now announced a whole new string of tour dates, which Canadians will be pleased to know includes a chunk a dates north of the border.

Kicking things off August 17 in Halifax, Modest Mouse will hit up a series of more eastern Canadian cities, including Montreal, Toronto and Kingston, ON. After that, they’ll head south and do the live thing a bit more on American soil.

As previously reported, the tour announcement comes as the group set to ring in the inaugural Vinyl Saturday this weekend on June 20, when they’ll exclusively offer up their "Autumn Beds"/"Whale Song" seven-inch (it’s out everywhere on June 23). Also, on July 4, the second instalment in photographer Pat Graham’s photozines will start shipping out. The wee books contain a series of archival snapshots of Modest Mouse, as well as some new pics.
