Young Rival Launch Videogame, Tour Canada
10/3/2008 By Cam Lindsay

Fishing may not go with rock'n'roll like sex and drugs but Hamilton, ON's Young Rival are doing their best to rewrite the timeless phrase as "sex, drugs, fishing and rock'n'roll." (Nah, it won't work.) The Steeltown throwback rockers have unveiled a new videogame where you go fishing with a guitar.

The lo-fi, flash-based game allows you to choose between the four members — Aron, John, Kyle and Noah — and then go surfing on a lilypad as you somehow grab the fish by shooting them with your guitar. Of course, there are some obstacles — the fish come speeding at you — and in the mix are a bunch of boots, which if you shoot subtract from your score. Click here to give it a try.

Basically, it's a great time waster, something I can imagine the quartet might do while they cross this vast country of ours promoting their new self-titled EP. You can read all about it on the blog they're writing exclusively for Exclaim! by clicking here.
