Norman Cook to Drop Fatboy Slim Moniker
5/14/2008 By Cam Lindsay

Just now realising that big beat is a thing of the past, one-time "superstar DJ" Norman Cook has announced he will drop his famous Fatboy Slim moniker in order to reinvent (read: revive) his career.

UK tabloid the Sun is reporting that Cook is currently in the midst of changing his name, though will not reveal it until the time is right.

“Yes, I am ditching the Fatboy Slim name but I can’t tell you the new one," he said. "I’m going to take the Fifth Amendment on that question and not say because I’ll get myself into trouble.”

Cook currently sits in the Guinness Book of World Records for recording the most Top 40 hits under different guises, which include "The Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You" under Fatboy Slim, Beats International's "Dub Be Good To Me," Freakpower's "Turn On Tune In Cop Out" and "Happiness" as Pizzaman.

When mentioned, Cook added: “I hadn’t thought of that so if hypothetically there was one more... I’m changing my name to Madonna!”

Uh, yeah. Looks like the sense of humour's gone too...
