Noel Gallagher Wants Hip-Hop To Stop At Glastonbury

Noel Gallagher (guitarist of Oasis) might have just made himself another enemy. According to BBC News UK The Brit rocker has recently complained about hip-hop being included on this summer’s Glastonbury Festival line-up.

Gallagher has claimed Jay-Z is the reason tickets haven’t sold as well as hoped. And he thinks it’s “wrong” that the Jigga Man is headlining the event. Although 100,000 tickets sold on the first day, previous years have seen tickets selling out within hours.

Gallagher said, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.” But we all know that the outspoken Noel didn’t stop there. “Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curveball in on a Sunday night, you go, ‘Kylie Minogue?’” he continued. “I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”

The full line-up for the festival will be announced on May 1.

Gallagher did speak of more pleasant things; Oasis’s seventh studio album is done. “That's finished. All done. We’re just kind of waiting to get a record deal and get it out. We’ve not managed to get a title yet. We’re in the middle of doing the artwork. Down to a shortlist of about three.”
