Cadence Weapon Drops New Video, Mixtape, Radiohead Remix
10/10/2008 By Brock Thiessen

Cadence Weapon may be travellin’ cross-country right now but this hasn’t stopped him from releasing a new handful of audio and visual stimulants. In this week alone, Mr. Weapon has dropped a new vid, a new mix CD and, to top it off, a Radiohead remix.

On the video front, we have a new clip for the Afterparty Babies track “Real Estate,” and no, the title is not some clever metaphor. Watch the video below and you’ll see Cadence Weapon hangin’ with the suits and droppin’ rhymes about that ever-pesky housing market, all to some pretty hilarious results.

Audio-wise, Cadence Weapon has fashioned a new mix CD, which he’s been selling exclusively at shows. On the 74-minute offering, you’ll find remixes, unreleased gems, some collaborations and a few totally new productions. The CD pressing is tour-only and limited, so if you want to avoid inflated eBay prices later on you may want to pick one up in the flesh. And then, yes, there is Cadence Weapon’s Radiohead remix for “Reckoner,” which you can hear and vote for over here.

Below are Cadence Weapon’s remaining live dates and look, there’s even a show tonight in Ottawa.

10/10 Ottawa, ON - Babylon *
10/11 Montreal - Zoo Bizarre *
10/12 Quebec, QC - La Ninkasi
10/16 Halifax, NS - Marquee Club #
10/17 Charlottetown, PEI - The Wave
10/18 Fredericton, NB – The Phoenix

The first Uncharted was unheralded, an out-of-nowhere blast of awesome that finally let PS3 owners brag about the console's software, not just its hardware. Sure, its Indiana Jones-aping approach had previously been pixelated by Tomb Raider but Uncharted's art direction, ... Full Review

Sitting in a Toronto coffee shop the week before the release of Little Girls' debut album, 20-year-old Josh McIntyre is a little worried. After an opening slot for crazed Israeli rockers Monotonix the previous night, the band's guitarist had his guitar amp repossessed. "He had it for a little longer than he was supposed to have it," he says dryly. A replacement needs to be wrangled before the band set out for their gig in Hamilton tonight.... Read More
