Digitalism
"Rock the Rave"

7/26/2007 By Cam Lindsay

On the heels of their full-length debut Idealism, German production team Digitalism introduce this hot summertime mix CD for the August issue of Mixmag. The title says it all, as Jens Moelle and Ismail Tuefekci keep the electro/indie torch lit, assembling a tracklisting of the hottest tracks currently making the rounds in electro house clubs. They may favour Punks Jump Up as remixers, but you can't really blame them since the Swedish/English duo rip up two of indie's hottest acts: Lo-Fi-Fnk and the Gossip. On the other hand, dropping buzz acts like Friendly Fires and Kitsuné label-mates Jence into the mix goes even further to prove their taste makes dance floors shake.

A taster of Digitalism...

Before the release of 2009's Veckatimest, Grizzly Bear stood at a career watershed of sorts. Critical darlings without much mainstream success, they could very well have continued in the direction set with 2007's Friend EP and become perennial indie overachievers, in the vein of the Li... It's unfortunate the words "maturity" and "growth" are stigmas in the world of punk rock. They would be the perfect descriptors for Toronto, ON-based Hostage Life's tertiary release. Maintaining the adage that a band never realize their true potential until their third album, the quintet prove thems... Full Review
